Steps to a Healthier You

Gather your fellow active friends during this week’s ‘Steps to a Healthier You’ event. Get your team of 5 people together (4 is allowed but 5 is highly recommended) and make a moving commitment to work up a sweat by taking some steps. This event is all about your team’s total steps over a five-day period, starting on July 10th.

When the team hits a total of 275,000 accumulated steps over the five days, you and your pals will each earn 3,000 Status Points and 10 FitWell points. How will you reach 275,000 steps in five days? Break it down; each team member should strive to hit an average of 11,000 steps a day. You can walk, jog or run in large chunks or break it up. Get off two bus stops earlier, go for a 30-minute walk/run at lunch or go out with the family for a walk after dinner.

Tap into your inner competitor and strive to place in the Top 10 teams with the highest team step total, above and beyond the minimum 275,000 to earn up to 3,000 Status Points and associated trophies based on your placement.

The details:
• Register your team of 5 members (4 is allowed, but 5 is highly recommended) by 11:59 p.m. on July 9th
• Event date: July 10th-14th
• Goal: Team of 5 members reach a minimum of 275,000 steps over 5 days
• Points: 3,000 Status Points and 10 FitWell points
• Upload deadline: by 11:59 p.m. on July 16th
• Competition: Participants ranked in the Top 10 teams over the minimum 275,000 steps amount will earn placement trophies and between up to 3,000 Status Points
• Points and trophies: Awarded by July 18th

Set aside time to be active and work up a sweat as you respect your overall health and well-being . Your goal should be to make moving more of a habit, something that comes as natural as brushing your teeth and washing your hands.

Now’s the time to take some Steps to a Healthier You!
